System 8 provides excellent chromatographic separation of ions. This composite screen shows the ion chromatographic separation of the anions: chloride, nitrite, bromide and nitrate.

The first window shows the chromatogram of the 4 ions at a concentration of 20mg/L. The second window shows the same chromatogram zoomed and expanded. This illustrates the low noise background and hence the potentially high sensitivity achieved without the use of ion suppression.

The third window shows repeat separations at different concentrations, superimposed with an offset. The retention time repeatability is better than 1 second in 5 minutes i.e. better than 0.3%.

The final window shows a typical calibration table showing the concentration of the calibration standards, the type of fit used, linear, quadratic or cubic, etc. The chosen calibration curve is shown for one of the mixture components; this is used for the quantitation of unknown samples.
