Ion Chromatography

This screen shows the excellent separation of the anions: chloride, nitrite, bromide and nitrate by Adept System 8.

The first window shows the chromatogram of the 4 ions at a concentration of 20mg/L. The second window shows the same chromatogram zoomed and expanded. This illustrates the low noise background and hence the potentially high sensitivity achieved without the use of ion suppression.

The third window shows repeat separations at different concentrations, superimposed with an offset. The retention time repeatability is better than 1 second in 5 minutes i.e. better than 0.3%.

The final window shows a table of concentrations of standards and the fit used. The curve is shown for one component; this is used for the quantitation of unknown samples.
